Another Shijo school painter, Kubota-san came up through the tutelage of Yokoyama Seiki (click on the zoom to adjust the image). After that extensive training, he moved to Osaka and studied with the most important Shijo school master there, Nishiyama Höen. These artists are world-renowned for their Kacho-ga. The wax tree is auspicious for the coming of autumn and a zen reminder of that which is wabi-sabi. Excellent condition for its age (light creases). Exquisite silk mounting.
